MIM2000 history in an n-dimensional cube:

  • The company was founded on 13 September 2000 by colleagues S. Vachek and Z. Pavliš, and from the outset positioned itself as a provider of IT solutions for non-IT problems — technical and organisational in nature — the primary product being an information system for hospitals and other healthcare facilities.
  • In April 2014 Petr Žemla assumed leadership in close collaboration with colleagues D. Talíř, M. Řehák, and T. “Shaddack” K.J. In the following years cooperations expanded: with the previous co-owners in early experiments with telemedicine support applications (monitoring potentially hazardous situations in people convalescing after discharge from medical care); into new technological domains — thermal compensation with colleagues from RCMT CTU Prague; studies into air pollution indication via mass-spectrometric detection techniques and piloted drones in cooperation with R. Tomášek; and FEM development and applications with the FemCalc crew.

Telemedicine

Telemedicine bridges distance between patient and healthcare provider using telecommunications infrastructure. The MIM2000 application addressed the critical post-discharge gap: patients transitioning from intensive clinical care to home convalescence lose structured monitoring. Remote parameter tracking provides early-warning signals for deteriorating conditions, reducing preventable readmissions.

Air Pollution Detection — TOF Mass Spectrometry

Time-of-flight mass spectrometry (TOF-MS) enables high-sensitivity rapid identification of molecular species in complex gas mixtures. Coupling portable TOF-MS instruments with drone-based atmospheric sampling delivers spatial resolution in pollution mapping unavailable from fixed stations — enabling source attribution rather than only concentration recording. The MIM2000/Tomášek collaboration explored instrument integration, data acquisition, and spatial interpolation methodology.

Finite Element Method — FemCalc Cooperation

The Finite Element Method (FEM) is the dominant numerical technique for engineering simulation: structural analysis, thermal behaviour, electromagnetic fields, fluid dynamics. FemCalc provides FEM as a web service, removing the barrier of on-premise solver installation. Cooperation with the FemCalc team bridged numerical simulation capability with practical engineering decision support — particularly relevant for the thermal compensation domain shared with RCMT.
